Numpages field not updating
Page numbers are usually a section property, not a document property.A page's number is determined by only two factors: page 5, the first page of that section will be page 5, the second page will be page 6, the third page will be page 7, and so on. The number never appears unless you tell Word to display it.Unfortunately, the built-in tools that simplify the insertion of page numbers also happen to make it more difficult to tell what's really going on.So, for the moment, forget everything you've learned or think you know about page numbers. First some background, consisting of four big ideas: A new blank document consists of a single section.I'm not very experienced in Angular JS so I'm not completely sure what is the root of the issue. It seems like num Pages cannot get updated even inside the directive scope. One of the longest standing wishes for RPE was to be able to generate documents where the Table of Contents and other fields are immediately visible (or calculated).
Article contributed by Bill Coan Word's page numbering scheme isn't directly obvious but it isn't needlessly complex, either. Once you understand how it works, all sorts of possibilities open up. AFAIK, this problem has been in Word since the beginning of time, though. When I create a field in a document, the field is updated when I force it to (e.g., with F9 or a right-click menu choice) or as a side-effect of opening or printing the file. Of course, much of the time (sometimes most of the time), the field update results in no change to the resultant text. Accept End If End With End Select Next i Revision End With End Select Next o Revision Next o Field End Sub I have recently realized that a solution to the question I posed is to NOT use revision marking at all.Exclude fields: there are scenarios where you do not want to update all the fields. For example if you expect further content will be added via post-processing operation then updating the TOC in RPE is useless as the TOC will become outdated.
For example, or a cross-reference or the filename is likely to be unchanged. Type Case wd Revision Delete With i Revision If Str Comp(revision Text, i Revision. Instead, after I've finished all my changes, I use Compare Files to create a Rev-marked version of the document.
