Numpages field not updating
Thanks, Yosh Not a complete solution, but you can avoid the duplicate revisions by turning off tracked revisions just before updating and then turning them back on again after update is complete. Type Case wd Revision Insert With o Revision revision Text = . You could go further to bind a macro to a keyboard short-cut to do these steps for you automatically. I'm not very experienced in Angular JS so I'm not completely sure what is the root of the issue.
As an alternative, if there's some way to easily remove these superfluous (non)revisions from my doc (while preserving all the "real" revisions), that'd be another solution to my problem.
Just because a page has a number doesn't mean the number will appear somewhere on the page.
I want to display total page count on th first page of the document.
Page numbers are usually a section property, not a document property.
A page's number is determined by only two factors: page 5, the first page of that section will be page 5, the second page will be page 6, the third page will be page 7, and so on. The number never appears unless you tell Word to display it.
See Table of tables with section numbers for an example of using this capability.
